Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

Practical answers to questions that often arise at the beginning of this process.

01Which administrative step should I arrange first?

There is no fixed order that works for everyone. Duration of stay, work, family, healthcare and housing determine which registrations are needed first. That's why A&M starts with your situation and then creates a practical route for the relevant applications.

02Do I automatically get residencia with an NIE?

No. An NIE is an identification number and does not itself grant the right to reside. EU citizens who live in Spain for more than three months need a separate EU registration.

03Are the requirements for a padrón the same everywhere?

No. The padrón is a municipal registration and municipalities may request different supporting documents or follow different procedures. A&M therefore checks the local procedure that applies to your place of residence.

04Can someone accompany me to a Spanish authority?

That can be part of the service. Depending on the service, A&M assists with preparation, interpreting and personal appointment assistance at the relevant Spanish authority.

Procedures and requirements may change and depend on your personal situation. A&M always verifies which route applies at the time of your request.
